higher purpose

Since high school, I have felt the need to write in a journal. I wrote during my pregnancy and would write to my son about my belly growing. Later, I wrote about the joy he gave me in his giggles and even in the rough crying nights of being a young first-time mother.

There’s so much freedom in writing. You don’t have to be perfect. Sometimes I would just write one sentence. Other times I would write a list of words. You don’t have to worry about being graded on it. It’s letting it out in a safe place, and you don’t have to worry about someone’s reaction.

In my early 30’s, I felt the Lord put on my heart to write a book. I wrote and wrote through some serious trials but later felt He wanted me to “wait”; I still had more to grow through. Maybe He was just preparing me for this Blog.

If anything, I hope it finds you well.

Know that I’m not a “writer”, nor did I do well enough in school to write with proper grammar or fancy words. I’m sharing my raw self. I pray for anyone who reads my writings, that we can connect on a deeper level. And through my walk with growing deeper in my faith, I pray that you grow deeper too.

Through the ups and downs that life brings, we ultimately know who our Savior is, as we pursue Him more and more each day.

Here I thought I was going to just write a blog about our renovation. During the reno process I thought “How blessed are we that the Lord has given us this house to do with it what we want and make it our own.” But really… during the process, I quickly started realizing it was much different than that. It was much bigger than I imagined and for a much higher purpose. And this is the story I’ll be sharing throughout this blog.

Renovation definition: The action of renovating a building.

"This property is in need of complete renovation"

Now the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ Jesus, will personally restore, establish, strengthen. -1 Peter 5:10

Restore the joy of Your salvation to me and give me a willing spirit. -Psalms 51:12
